One of the most prominent producers of the contemporary Caribbean scene will bring modern dancehall to Zlaté piesky straight from its cradle. DJ MAC, a two-time Billboard producer, will perform at the Uprising 2026 festival.
During the last weekend of August, Bratislava’s Zlaté piesky will once again transform into the center of reggae, dancehall and Caribbean culture. This year, Uprising Festival will also welcome DJ MAC, a producer and DJ hailing directly from Kingston, Jamaica.
DJ MAC is one of the names that has significantly shaped the sound of modern dancehall in recent years. In his work, he combines authentic Jamaican roots with contemporary production and club energy. The result is songs and riddims that find their way not only to fans in the Caribbean, but also to the world charts and the biggest dance floors.
A producer whose songs have traveled the world
He has collaborated with several prominent figures in the dancehall scene, including performers such as Shenseea, Kranium and Vybz Kartel. He gained attention mainly thanks to the extremely successful WYFL riddim, which became a viral phenomenon and reminded of the period when the world charts were dominated by the biggest Jamaican hits.
Far from being a one-hit wonder, DJ MAC is a two-time Billboard producer who has steadily established himself as one of the most interesting creators of the new generation. He confirmed this with his debut album Ups & Downs, which was released in 2025 and shortly after its release reached number one on the American iTunes Reggae chart.
His music shows how contemporary dancehall can sound without losing touch with Jamaican tradition. He will bring this combination of modern sound, strong bass lines and authentic energy to the Slovak audience.
Straight from Kingston to Zlaté piesky
DJ MAC will not be alone on stage. DJ BABA will perform with him, who will take on the role of MC and hypeman. Visitors can expect not only a classic DJ set, but a dynamic show built on direct contact with the audience and an atmosphere typical of Jamaican parties.
Their joint performance promises the freshest dancehall sound, powerful bass, viral hits and true Caribbean energy straight from Kingston. The entire show will be complemented by Slovak dancehall dancers from the Badd Fyah crew, who will bring another dose of energy, movement and authentic dancehall atmosphere to the stage.
Jamaica will have a strong presence at Uprising
That said, DJ MAC is not the only performer coming to Uprising directly from Jamaica this year. One of the main headliners of the festival will be Protoje, who will present his new album. The distinctive reggae singer Hempress Sativa will also visit Zlaté piesky, bringing fresh material from her new album to the Slovak audience.
Moreover, the program goes far beyond Jamaican headliners. Uprising will once again offer a variety of music from different corners of the world and, during the two festival days, will combine reggae, dancehall, dub, hip-hop, drum and bass and other genres into one big celebration of music, freedom and positive energy.
