The Uprising 2026 festival brings one of the most striking moments in its history. After many years of waiting, the legendary Orishas will be introduced to fans. This Cuban formation is one of the groups that fundamentally shaped modern Latin American music. Their unmistakable sound was created by a unique combination of Cuban traditional music, hip-hop and Afro-Cuban rhythms, where rap rebellion perfectly intertwined with the elegance of Cuban tradition. They have become a symbol of the underground scene and have influenced entire generations of performers around the world.
Čistychov presents his heart’s desire

A global phenomenon with a film twist
Orishas’ work brought Latin urban music to the global stage and opened the door to today’s biggest stars of the genre. They became one of the first Spanish-singing groups to sell out venues in Europe and the US without losing their raw Cuban identity. Songs like “Represent”, “537 C.U.B.A.”, and “A Lo Cubano” became anthems for several generations.
Their music also conquered Hollywood – tracks from Orishas were featured in blockbusters like The Fast and the Furious (“Atrevido”), Sinful Dance: Havana Nights (“Represent”), and El Benny (“Soy Guajiro”). During their career, they have shared stages with names such as Cypress Hill, The Roots and Calle 13. Their status is also evidenced by the fact that the prestigious Rolling Stone magazine has repeatedly ranked them among the most important bands in the world and considers their album A Lo Cubano an absolute gem of the genre.
Exclusive premiere with a live band
The performance at Uprising 2026 will be the first ever Orishas show in our region, making it one of the most important musical events of the upcoming festival season. of the season.
“Orishas are a band we’ve been waiting for for years. They bring their own musical language that is perfect for Uprising. Their Slovak premiere is a confirmation of our ambition to bring exclusive names that have a deep cultural impact,” say the festival organizers.
What’s best is that Orishas will perform in Bratislava accompanied by a full live band, so Zlaté piesky will experience a really energetic and explosive show!
Already a strong line-up for Uprising 2026
The Cuban legend completes the extremely busy festival program, which already features world-class names such as Gogol Bordello, Jamaican Protoje, drum&bass stars Andy C and Bou, French Dub Inc, African reggae icon Tiken Jah Fakoly and rap legend Masta Ace. Visitors can expect almost 100 concert performances on 7 stages.
The festival will take place on August 28 and 29, 2026 at Bratislava’s Zlaté piesky. In addition to music, it will bring two days full of visual art, stand-up comedy, skateboarding, yoga, gastro zones with cuisines from around the world and the unmistakable atmosphere of a summer holiday.
