Priest Maken is a pivotal figure in Polish soundsystem culture, a music journalist, and the founder of the legendary collective Joint Venture Sound System, which has been shaping the local reggae and dub scene since 1988. He is known for his striking image in a priest’s cassock, but above all for his fierce, dub-punk energy and uncompromising selection under the motto “School of Heavy Dance.” As a longtime radio personality, organizer of the Soundsystem Street Festival, and recipient of a state award for his contribution to culture, his sets blend rare dub-reggae gems with ethno elements, samples, and energetic vocal accompaniment.
