Gogol Bordello is the first headliner of Uprising 2026!
The international gypsy-punk whirlwind Gogol Bordello is heading to the Zlaté piesky in Bratislava, promising the wildest and most energetic show of the year.
The American band, led by Ukrainian singer Eugen Hütz, is a global force that has collaborated with stars such as Madonna, System of a Down, Rancid and Primus, and recorded a duet with Regina Spektor, for example. Their discography is equally stellar – albums have been produced by legends such as Rick Rubin and Steve Albini. On their upcoming album We Mean It, Man! was produced by Nick Launay (IDLES, Nick Cave, Public Image Ltd) and features Bernard Sumner from Joy Division / New Order.
The concerts of this seven-piece multicultural ensemble, which combines Romani traditions, punk rebellion, dub and cabaret, are among the most hyper-energetic shows in the world. Uprising will welcome not only the chaos of Gypsy Punk, but also the unfiltered punk and hardcore essence with elements of techno. Fans can look forward to a cross-section of their work, including songs from the new album, which Hütz calls “post punk revenge”.
The first name announced for the festival was Tiken Jah Fakoly – the iconic voice of Africa from Côte d’Ivoire, a tireless fighter for social justice and a guardian of the pure and authentic Roots Reggae tradition.
Uprising Festival will take place on August 28-29, 2026. Tickets in a discounted price wave are already on sale at www.uprising.sk. Gogol Bordello and Tiken Jah Fakoly open a series of names that confirm that the 19th year of the festival will be a wild and colorful ride.
