Dr. Kary

“Fully and gratefully. As long as I can, I’ll keep playing. I want to meet you, sing with you, hug you, and enjoy every second.”
With these heartfelt words, Ondřej — MC Dr. Kary reaches out to his fans, after his life took a sudden turn due to a serious illness. Despite the challenges, he has chosen not to give up and instead to live every moment to the fullest. Music, people, love, and energy have become his medicine.

On what may be his final tour, he will also grace the Uprising Festival stage — and we’ll be there to welcome him with open arms. We believe in the power of goodness, positive energy, hope, smiles, and passion for music — and that this power can change destinies. We truly hope this won’t be the last time we see our beloved Doktor at Uprising or any other event.

Dr. Kary has been active since 1997, when he started as an MC for selector Liquid A. He was part of the Gardenzitta Sound, a key player in shaping the Czech raggajungle scene, and co-founded Pro Soundsystem alongside General Kryshpeen and Liquid A. He was also a promoter behind Club Zion, a cornerstone of the Czech reggae and raggajungle scene.

Over the years, he has shared the stage with artists like Kosheen, Transglobal Underground, Dr. Ring Ding, and Mad Professor, and collaborated on tracks with Polemic and Indy & Wich. For many years, he performed with Fast Food Orchestra, touring across Europe and even in Brazil. In recent years, he’s been a regular contributor to the Sklizeň compilations and a member of the group Nevereš alongside Cocoman and Messenjah.
